McCurley Signs At Georgian Court

Plainswoman volleyball player Emily McCurley has signed her NLI to play at Georgian Court University.  Georgian Court is an NCAA Division II school that is in Lakewood, New Jersey.  The Lions have had many appearances at the National Tournament, and McCurley hopes she can be a part of a team that does it again.  McCurley commented on her signing, "I chose GCU because I really liked the team, coaching staff, and the school.  I felt like they really cared about me as a player and as a person."  Being a long ways from home doesn't bother McCurley either.  "I was intrigued by Georgian Court because it was on the east coast and they had a volleyball program with a good reputation," added McCurley.

This season was very memorable for fans, players, and coaching staff alike.  Head coach Jess Squier was excited to see McCurley sign at GCU.  "When Emily told me that she was going to accept the offer from Georgian Court, I beamed with pride.  She's going to do some really great things academically and athletically.  I appreciate all that she has done for me and our volleyball program."

McCurley will head east in early August to begin her next chapter as a GCU Lion.  She concluded with, "I look forward to playing volleyball and getting my degree.  I also look forward to continuously growing as a player and as a person."
