Briar Cliff Bound

Noel Phillips has signed her NLI to become a Charger at Briar Cliff University.  The lefty is excited to begin the next chapter in athletics and academics.  Phillips commented, "Briar Cliff had always found a way back to me.  The coach has been looking at me since my senior year of high school, it just felt as if it was meant to be."  Briar Cliff competes in the GPAC and are members of the NAIA.  Located in Sioux City, IA, Briar Cliff has been a top team within their conference year in and year out.  "I look forward to having the opportunity to continue playing volleyball, making new friends, and becoming closer to receiving my bachelor's degree," added Phillips.  The size of the school was another aspect she liked about BCU.  "I enjoy the small school feel, and when visiting Briar Cliff, it felt perfect; not too big nor too small.  Everybody is so friendly there, you have many options for fun things to do around town, which is also appealing."

Phillips is originally from Honolulu, HI and has been a major asset to the Plainswomen volleyball team in her two years here.  Phillips commented about her most memorable experience, "My favorite memory so far being at NJC would be beating Western Nebraska at home.  Being able to beat our rivalry team was the best feeling.  I still watch that game point and get chills every time."

Head coach Jess Squier is also excited for Phillips signing at Briar Cliff.  "I'm really happy for Noel.  She chose a program that she really feels valued.  Having lived in Sioux City myself, I think she's going to get a great experience academically, athletically, and socially," added Squier.  "She's going to do some good things at Briar Cliff. I appreciate her commitment to our program "
