Pajevic Signs to Morgan State

Mar. 29, 2019, Sterling, Colo. — Northeastern volleyball player, Sofija Pajevic, recently signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Md. The Bears are Division 1 members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and play in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

Head coach for Morgan State, Ramona Riley-Bozier, commented, "She is competitive and has high expectation of herself and will hold her teammates to that same standard, which is what I believe we are missing to get to that championship."

In her two years as a Plainswoman, Pajevic tallied up some impressive stats. As a setter, she had 2423 assists and 439.5 points. She helped lead her team to a Region IX championship and to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championship her sophomore year, which had not been done since 2002.

Pajevic also accumulated many post-season honors in her two years. Those honors include two time NJCAA second team all-American, American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) third team all-American, two time Region IX setter of the year, two time Region IX all-region team, two time Region IX all-tournament team, Region IX tournament most valuable player, and Region IX player of the year.

Pajevic thinks she will be a great fit at Morgan State. "I felt the connection that I have been looking for with Coach Riley-Bozier from the first moment we spoke," stated Pajevic. "I believe that Morgan State will take me to the next level, both academically and athletically. I am very excited for the next two years."

Pajevic is set to graduate this May with her Associates Degree.
