Coach Chrisman Earns Her 50th Win In Weekend Sweep

Plainswomen volleyball has won 8 of their last 10 games, 7 of which have been in a row.  Northeastern moves to 16-10 on the season with a perfect 6-0 record thus far in conference play.  To add to the excitment, Coach Mackenzie Chrisman earned her 50th win with the NJC program as head coach.  This past weekend, the Plainswomen played North Platte Community College and also Lamar Community College College.  Last time NJC faced North Platte CC on the road, the Knights swept the Plainswomen 3-0 in their match.  This time, NJC swept the Knights 3-0 as they got the much needed redemption win to continue the winning streak.  Next up for Northeastern is McCook Community College on Wednesday, October 20th on the road.

Breakdown: NJC got off to a hot start in each of the sets giving them early leads.  Freshman Sidney Bills had 9 kills with only one error, giving her a .533 hitting percentage on top of her 4 blocks.  The attack was also led by freshmen Kaytlin Smart and Lacy Hunt who each tallied 7 kills in the match.  Sophmore Jade Feather led the way defensively with 22 digs while sophmore Andie Anderson added 8 digs and 19 assists.

Breakdown: Northeastern never let Lamar get an edge on them in any of the three sets.  The freshman continue to get better each game and are stepping up tremendously to help make NJC more competitive.  Taylor Wiescamp led the attack with 9 kills while Kaytlin Smart and Sidney Bills recorded 8 kills each.  Topping off the attack also was Caley Harper and Lacy Hunt who each had 6 kills.  Andie Anderson and Allie Schumacher together recorded 33 assists.
