#4 Northeastern Dominates #16 Western Nebraska In A Clean Sweep To Go Undefeated In Region Play For The Second Year In A Row. They Are The South Region IX Champions and will be the #1 Seed going into the Region Tournament Starting Next Wednesday At Laramie County Community College
The #4 Plainswomen traveled to Scottsbluff to take on the #16 Cougars and walked away victorious, after downing the Cougars in straight sets (25-17)(25-17)(25-10). Francesca Nuzzo was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Nuzzo has been unstoppable the last two matches, against WNCC she compiled an unofficial 15 kills and 2 block assists.
Natalie Moore added an unofficial 5 kills and Rosa Brencic added an unofficial 11 kills to aid the Plainswomen to victory. Northeastern was able to communicate well and kept their composure throughout the match. They start Region IX tournament play on Wednesday at Laramie County Community College. They are the #1 seed in the South and will play at 4:30.
