
#5 Northeastern Takes Down #12 Trinity Valley In Straight Sets. They Move Onto The Quarter-Finals To Face #13 Colby College At 6:00 PM MST Tomorrow 11/21/2024
The #5 Plainswomen are headed to the quarter-finals after they took down #12 Trinity Valley in straight sets on Wednesday, (25-15) (27-25) (25-23). The Plainswomen started on fire, taking complete control of the first set. The second set started off good for Northeastern, but Trinity Valley came roaring back taking a 24-21 lead. After a great dig from Francesca Nuzzo, the Plainswomen gained momentum, ultimately winning the second set after pushing 3 set points against them. The third set was a back and forth afair, where Northeastern trailed most of the time. The Plainswomen were able to push through adversity and take care of the Cardinals in a sweep.
Nerea Alvarez Jorge was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Jorge tallied an unofficial 37 assists in the contest. The Plainswomen had all sorts of offense going for them, Rosa Brencic had 14 kills while hitting at a .429 hitting percentage, Anna Ruter had a .353 hitting percentage and Natalie Moore had a .545 hitting percentage. Northeastern was able to stick to their game plan and keep their composure through tough and high stress moments.
They will be back in action again tomorrow against #13 Colby College at 6:00 PM MST.
